Job Title: Occupational Hygiene Technician

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Working Hours: Full time, mixture of day and evening shifts (typical monthly working pattern - 3 weeks of day shifts, followed by one week of 3pm till midnight shifts)

Salary: £24,000 per annum + £2k travel allowance + unsociable hours adjustment

Qualifications & Certifications

Ideally you will be an affiliate Member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH)

and working towards the certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH) - however full training can be provided.

A STEM degree is desirable but not essential.

Working alongside an enthusiastic occupational health team, you will take a proactive approach in managing your own workloads.

What you would be doing as a Occupational Hygiene Technician

  • Performing Occupational Hygiene monitoring and surveys of personnel and site activities for a range of chemical, physical and biological agents.
  • Participating in specific occupational hygiene related investigations and studies.
  • Carrying out regular workplace inspection to assess occupational hygiene related aspects.
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of training and information materials on occupational hygiene related topics.
  • Contributing to the occupational hygiene performance reports.

As a successful Occupational Hygiene Technician you will have experience in:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • IT literate
  • IT competency and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams
  • Hold a degree qualification in a STEM related subject area and preferably at least three years' work experience of industrial and / or construction environments
