Cranleigh STEM is working with a leading provider of hydrogen fuel cell power systems to generate clean energy in support of the global energy transition.

We are looking for a senior technician to join its manufacturing team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an opportunity for a senior manufacturing or production technician to step up into a leadership role within the manufacturing and wiring department, we're looking for someone to contribute to the continuous improvement of our clients' pilot production line.

Salary: £38,000-£42,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate staff to work towards continuous improvement and strive to exceed KPIs for productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, health and safety and quality continually.
  • Execute the installation of wiring and associated electrical components within the H-Power Generator according to designated specifications and approved wiring schedules.
  • Mentor and train other team members.
  • Adhere strictly to standardised work practices and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in the assembly process.
  • Collaborate closely with the mechanical team to ascertain optimal part placement for efficient wiring integration.
  • Coordinate with the mechanical design team to refine designs, facilitating streamlined manufacturing and seamless installation of the final product.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling the usage of consumables and tools to minimise wastage and optimise resource utilisation.


Requirements:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in electrical wiring, ideally encompassing both high and low-power applications.
  • Ability to implement CI, Lean, Six Sigma, strategies within a production/manufacturing setting.
  • Aptitude to take on a leadership role in the future.
  • Previous experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial wiring is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and effectively implement wiring schedules and schematic diagrams.
  • Proficient in hand soldering techniques and adept with various crimping tools.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools essential for electrical assembly tasks.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
