Assembly Technician

Do you want to work with a leading manufacturer just outside of Cambridge in an exceptionally clean environment with excellent pay rates? Earn up to £16.50 per hour as an Assembly Technician.

We are currently partnering with a company that manufactures components for the aviation industry and is looking to scale up its operation just outside of Cambridge. If you’re a hard-working individual who can read engineering drawings, the Assembly Technician role will be a great opportunity for you.

Job Responsibilities

As an Assembly Technician, you will:

  • Working with different types of panels and materials
  • Safely using power tools to assemble components
  • Removing core materials
  • Performing basic curing processes
  • Preparing materials according to instructions
  • Inserting and securing components
  • Drilling and preparing metal parts
  • Using the internal MRP system
  • Reading and following engineering drawings and specifications

Person Specification

To be successful as an Assembly Technician, you should ideally have:

  • Experience working within the aviation, heavy, or production environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Computer literate, ideally with experience using MRP systems

Hours of Work and Pay

  • Up to £16.50 per hour, dependant on experience
  • 37-hour week
    • Monday to Thursday - 08:00 to 16:30
    • Friday - 08:00 to 13:00
  • Breaks
    • 15-minute morning break
    • 30-minute lunch break (unpaid)
    • 10-minute afternoon break
  • Overtime
    • Over 37 hours a week and Saturday: x1.5
    • Sunday and bank holidays: x2.0
