Location: HPC Site, Bridgwater (Office visits to Warrington as required)
 
Our client are a vibrant engineering solutions company with an excellent opportunity to join the HPC team as a Lead Electrical Engineer
 
Job Summary
 
The Lead Electrical Engineer will verify construction designs and ensure technical compliance for the electrical network installation. Responsibilities include supporting the installation of cabling, components, and systems in the Turbine Hall of the HPC (New Nuclear Build) project. This role requires a strong grasp of nuclear engineering principles and electrical engineering practices to meet stringent safety and quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
The Lead Electrical Engineer will support the the client's Engineering & Design team by providing Electrical Design Services, including:
·Verifying the client's tray work, supports design, single line diagrams, cable schedules, and earthing diagrams for procurement and installation preparation.
·Overseeing the development of electrical systems installation design and components based on nuclear site specifications and requirements.
·Ensuring all designs comply with nuclear industry codes, standards, and regulations.
·Preparing and submitting documentation for client approvals and reviews.
·Providing technical support for electrical equipment/systems installation preparations.
·Managing work packages across various project stages, from concept design to construction.
·Leading a small design and construction team.
 
Essential Skills
 
·At least 5 years of relevant design experience, including successful delivery of electrical installation designs within nuclear sector projects.
·Strong experience in UK nuclear or nuclear decommissioning construction projects.
·Proficiency in E&I design best practices.
·Strong understanding of the design process and associated documentation.
·Experience across the project life cycle, from concept and detail design to construction, testing, and handover.
·Knowledge of data and administrative management practices and procedures.
·Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015 and experience fulfilling 'Designer' requirements.
·Strong understanding of electrical standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, NEC).
·CAD and Navisworks (or equivalent) knowledge
