We are currently looking for a M&E CAD Engineer for a large company based in Derbyshire. As part of your role within the business you will be required to undertake the following tasks.

M&E CAD Engineer duties:

  • Experience in populating 2D philosophy / concept M&E Drawings in 2D CAD / Revit / BIM from Stage 3 to 6 Design Levels.
  • Experience in View Templates or Worksets.
  • Experience in using BIM360 or ACC which is essential for coordinating services and syncing the model before publishing it when you want others to be able to get access to the model.
  • An understanding of a BEP (BIM execution plan)
  • An understanding of the different BIM Levels and COBie requirements including the implementation of same.
  • An understanding of clash detection and its use and collaborating with other members of the design team to overcome potential issues. Perform clash detection and resolution using Revit to identify and mitigate design conflicts early in the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the design team to integrate Revit models with architectural and structural models, ensuring accurate and clash-free coordination.
  • An understanding of families and how these are created and which websites to use for the respective families and developing Revit families and libraries to ensure consistent and efficient use of standard components and materials across projects.
  • Familiarity of the following web-based portals would also be of benefit in an administrator’s capacity with responsibility for adding other members of staff onto these as an operating system: - ➢ Aconex ➢ 4P/Viewpoint ➢ ACC/BIM360 ➢ Edocs ➢ Defence Share
  • Managing Autodesk licenses on an annual basis for the business.
  • An understanding and an ability to use Dropbox and WeTransfer portals for zipping up drawings and issuing out to 3rd parties.
  • You will be engaged in producing typical Contract drawings in Revit & or 2d CAD to include but not limited to Incoming Services / trenching details, Heating, Air[1]conditioning, CHW, Mechanical Ventilation / Natural Ventilation, Domestic H&CWS / Cat 5 services, specialist gases / Compressed air, LEV / Fume Cupboard Extract Ventilation, Above ground drainage etc supporting our design Dept in this process.
  • You will be required to produce supporting 2D CAD drawings in the form of Schematics for all of the above services, provide sectional building / plant details & elevation drawings to identify louvre / flue arrangements etc.
  • You will be required to liaise with our design Dept to ensure all drawing equipment has supporting equipment schedules embedded into the drawings prior to issue.
  • You will also be responsible for producing, coordinating and dimensioning up Builderswork bases, penetrations / pop up for incoming services / drainage / sumps and the like in order to satisfy our design with assisted direction from our design and contracting Depts.
  • Assist in populating design information / equipment schedules for incorporation into our drawings.
  • You will be required to set up the QA (IRS – Information Release Schedules) for drawing delivery to our clients including the population of drawing issue sheets with correct revision notes and drawing status cross referenced to the contract drawings and the monitoring of this status following the appropriate revisions.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all drawings sheets are populated with the correct discipline standard notes, legends and typical details pertaining to the project.
  • You will be responsible for liaising with other members of the design team (Architects, Structural Engineers, Main Contractors design personnel and both our in-house design & Contracting personnel to coordinate and progress the drawings capturing any design / GA changes and also working alongside FF&E fit out companies and the Architect / Electrical Contractors to coordinate RCP (reflected ceiling plans) with grids / lighting etc.
  • Produce high-quality construction documentation from Revit models, including plans, sections, elevations, and schedules.
  • Utilize Revit’s BIM capabilities to extract and manage data for project deliverables, ensuring accuracy and consistency in model information.
  • Implement and maintain BIM standards and protocols, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards for all Revit-based projects. Package in return for the right motivated individual: -

  • Salary £40,000 £45,000 + Package
  • Office working hours: Mon Fri inclusive 0800 – 1700hrs less 1hr lunch break.
