Typically, this person will you will support the management, planning, and coordination of all vessel maintenance, upgrades, and repairs. Collaborating closely with ship crews, you will help ensure the fleet operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Vessel Superintendent:

• Repair and Maintenance Coordination: Assist in managing and coordinating repairs and maintenance, working with ship staff to source parts and labour, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Supervision of Docking Repairs: Oversee docking repairs and maintenance, addressing technical issues and resolving problems on behalf of clients until completion.
• Documentation Management: Ensure all documentation related to repair and maintenance projects is completed promptly, including purchase orders and store requisitions, and update the IT system accordingly.
• Survey Coordination: Arrange mandatory surveys and ensure all records are accurately updated.
• Guidance and Training: Provide professional support and training to ship crews in coordination with Operations and Crewing departments.
• Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the annual maintenance budget, monitoring actual expenditures against the budget.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate and prepare reports on incidents or developments, liaising with relevant parties as needed.
• Client Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
• Additional Projects: Undertake any other project work as directed by senior management and business needs.

Qualifications and requirement for the Assistant Vessel Superintendent:

• Someone with existing shoreside experience in a similar post, coupled with a background to 3rd or 2nd Engineer and above, or a strong Ship Repair background.
• A problem solver that comes up with realistic solutions.
• Excellent communicator.
• Good eye for detail and report-writing skills.
• Must have the immediate right to live and work in the UK.
