Approach Personnel are working in conjunction with an established and growing main contractor to recruit an experience Assistant Project Manager across Cambridgeshire. As the Assistant Project Manager, you will have the responsibility for ensuring you support the project team to ensure projects are planned, managed, financially controlled and submits reports as the needs of the project require. Additionally, you will work on construction and refurbishment projects of up to £2m in value across various sectors, including retail, commercial and education.

Working alongside, and offering support to the Project Manager, you will also be responsible for, but not limited to;

  • Ensuring that the allocated projects are run efficiently and profitably; ensuring full compliance to Health and Safety legislation and contract conditions, as well as completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.
  • Assisting the Project Manager and their team in their managing role and responsibilities for the day-to-day running of projects and also running own small works projects.
  • Attendance of regular site meetings with client, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Planning Supervisor etc.
  • Preparation of reports, programmes, progress and profitability reports.
  • Pricing and agreeing instructions with the client or client’s agent.
  • Contribute to formulating valuations and final accounts.
  • Assisting with the preparation of tenders.
  • To procure, negotiate terms and monitor the performance of sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Supporting and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.

To be considered and successful with this opportunity, you should have but not limited to;

  • A qualification in Construction or Construction Management or Building Studies and/or a trades background or equivalent
  • An extensive experience managing construction and refurbishment projects across commercial, education, retail and healthcare, ideally from a main or principal contractor background
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Bluebeam, and Procore will be ideal but mandatory
  • CSC Card, SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid at work

Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced DBS checks.
