Our client design and manufacture precision forged and machined components and are currently recruiting for a Toolmaker to join their team. As a Toolmaker you will be responsible for manufacturing all tooling to engineering drawings within tight tolerances.

Hours of work are Days (Monday to Friday)

Pay rate £16.78 per hour plus competitive benefits package.

Reporting directly to the Toolroom Supervisor , your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manufacture of extrusion, mould and finish dies from raw materials
  • Manufacture single stage clip tools
  • Surface grinding
  • Manual milling
  • Manual turning
  • Polishing to high spec finish
  • Bench Work
  • Service and repair tooling (PPM)
  • Breakdowns

To be successful in the role of a Toolmaker you will hold the following skills and experience;

  • Experienced toolmaker with at least 5 years experience in a toolroom
  • Experience within a hot metal, heavy manufacturing environment
  • Foundation understanding of material science and metallurgy
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of measuring equipment such as micrometres, height gauges etc
  • Good communicator and a "can do" attitude"
  • An attention to detail and able to work meticulously

This position is based near Redditch and is easily commutable from Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Studley, South Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.
