WINNER are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Technicians in Manchester.

Salary: Circa £41,500 to £56,500 per annum

HOURS OF WORK:

Alternating shifts between days and afternoons

Week 1 – 07:00 to 15:30 – Week 2 – 12:30 to 21:00

Ideally you will have HGV-Mechanical Qualifications such as IRTEC, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds, however time-served mechanics with at least five years’ experience working on HGVs will be considered.

We are a well-established company, founded in 1957, and specialists in commercial vehicle rental. Our Business has 6 rental depots, with fully equipped maintenance workshops in the North and South of England. From these depots we operate approximately 2000 vehicles (of which 900 are above 3.5 tons).

About the role

The position of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines and repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner. The HGV Mechanic will be reporting to the Workshop Manager and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturers’ standards. It would be advantageous for you to have knowledge of cranes or hydraulics & experience working on tippers, tipper grabs or beaver tails, however these skills are not essential as training will be given.

Salary Breakdown

  • 40 hours @ £18.97 per hour (hours as above) = £758.80 per week x 52 weeks = £39,457.60 per annum
  • 4 hours @ £28.45 per hour (08:00 – 12:00 1 in 3 Saturdays mornings) = £1,991.85 per annum

Total Earnings                                                                                                                                      = £41,449.45 per annum

+ Non-compulsory overtime available to boost your income:                

  • £28.45 x 5 hours per week = £142.25 x 52 weeks = £7,397.00 per annum

Potential Earnings                                                                                                                               c£48,000.00 – £57,000.00 per annum
