Job Summary:
We are a dynamic scientific equipment provider at the forefront of developing innovative technology for scientific imaging. Our team is expanding, and we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Test Engineer to join us in Southampton, Hampshire. The successful candidate will lend their expertise to support the development, testing and assembly of our equipment, as well as assist in training and supporting our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop test plans and strategies for electronic systems, vacuum systems, and related scientific imaging equipment.
- Perform system builds, including mechanical assembly and electronic configurations, ensuring all components meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct rigorous testing of systems to verify functionality, performance, and reliability; analyse and resolve failures.
- Oversee and improve testing procedures to streamline the test process and enhance product reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on system operation and maintenance, enhancing their overall experience.
- Document test results and provide detailed reports for impacted stakeholders, including suggestions for improvements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, offering timely resolutions.
- Stay current with the latest technological advancements and industry standards related to scientific imaging equipment and electronic system fault-finding.

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Physics, or a related field with a strong understanding of electronic systems.
- Experience with fault finding and troubleshooting of electronic systems is essential.
- Proficiency in working with vacuum systems, scientific imaging equipment, mechanical build, electronics, and computer controls.
- A strong foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of scientific equipment testing.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex problems in a clear and accessible manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and independently when required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Comfortable providing training and support to customers with varying levels of technical expertise.
- A passion for technology and innovation within the field of scientific imaging.
