About this Role:

Experienced Senior Project Manager required to take the lead role to manage the construction of a £100m plus new build Higher Education facility in Southampton, Hampshire, due to commence on site later in the autumn for a 3 year programme of works.

This scheme is currently in second stage preconstruction - the development will comprise three large footprint multi-storey buildings with the construction a mix of steel frame, PT and precast concrete frames - these will be fit out fully to provide teaching space, lecture theatres, offices, etc.

As Senior Project Manager for the scheme you will be responsible for managing the delivery focussed aspects of preconstruction, then the construction from start on site, for all phases though to handover in 2027.

This role will report into a client facing Project Director.

You will lead your team holding ultimate responsibility for design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, safety and quality, plus budgetary control of the project through to final handover.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The client is the major projects division working in close conjunction with the regional office of this national main contractor - regional focus tends to be on education, healthcare, defence and leisure projects ranging £25m to £50m in the South Coast region.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will ideally be an experienced Senior / Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver major project schemes of £50m+ in value.

Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
