Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Location: Manchester, North West.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience.

About The Role:

The company are seeking an experienced and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide service, maintenance, and breakdown support for their nationwide portfolio of gas gensets and CHP engines.

This role would suit someone either already in industry or looking for a move from HGV or Diesel.  Do you possess a strong technical background including engine rebuilds and are keen to learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and maintain gensets and CHP engines using biogas and natural gas.
  • Conduct oil sampling, parts selection and replacement, and adjust stock levels.
  • Competent in working on internal combustion engines from servicing to working with a team carrying out overhauls. 
  • Deliver excellent customer service and manage technical support roles.
  • Maintain communication with the Service Team.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Document all site visits and complete service reports.
  • Perform on-call duties as required.
  • Maintain company equipment and uphold high site housekeeping standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in service engineering or similar
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge.
  • Proven experience with engine rebuilds and overhauls.
  • NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds Mechanical qualification.
  • Competent in IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Full driving license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work alone as required. 
  • Flexibility to work long and unsociable hours and stay away from home if needed.
