Business Development Manager – Construction Materials / Services

Thatcher Associates has been retained by a Construction Services business to assist with the appointment of a Business Development Manager.

Company

Our client is a family owned business that specializes in waste management.  They run a fleet of vehicles and a recycling facility, providing services to building and civil engineering contractors and residential developers within 50 miles of Bristol.

The Role

Working from their offices near the center of Bristol the core function of this role is to maintain relationships with existing clients and onboard new clients.  Responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing existing clients and identifying service gaps and opportunities to generate additional business.
• Tracking construction and civil engineering activity within 50 miles of Bristol, identifying potential new clients.
• Meeting senior level clients and presenting the company’s capabilities.
• Completing Pre-qualification questionnaires and submitting documentation to evidence the company’s commitment to environmental standards and recycling.
• Negotiating prices and securing the company’s position on preferred supplier lists across the region.
• Managing a small team of Sales Executives
• Reporting to the Managing Director, providing sales reports and advising on future strategy.
