Hours: 8.30 AM – 3.30 PM

Job Description for the Learning Support Assistant, Old Trafford, M16:

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our secondary school in Old Trafford, M16. This full-time, long-term position is dedicated to supporting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students with special needs and challenging behaviour and you will be supporting them on a 1-1 basis.

Responsibilities for the learning support Assistant, Old Trafford, M16

• Provide tailored support to students with special needs and challenging behaviour on a 1-1 basis.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to monitor and track student progress.
• Help prepare learning materials and resources to support students' educational needs.

Requirements for the learning support assistant role in Old Trafford, M16

• Previous experience working with children with special needs and challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student development
