Client: Our client is a nationally renowned M&E Contractor who turnover in excess of £250M. With numerous offices throughout the country their client base ranges from end users to large main contractors, including: Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Carillion. They specialise in technically challenging projects within the Datacentre, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Residential and R&D sectors. Following the appointment on a major project in South London, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the delivery to hand over.

Role: Mechanical Project Manager – Day Rate – £400 - £500 per day (CIS)

Project: Sports Complex: refurbishment of the campus. The project is circa £35 Million MEP and the program runs over 4 years. The project itself is a strip out on an existing building and adding a floor, it currently only has 4 floors and will have a fifth. Although a strip out you will be adapting some of the existing services.

Role/Responsibilities:  

  • Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
  • Value Engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
  • Health & Safety management (RAMs)
  • Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
  • Management of variations
  • Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
  • Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover
