HLTA - Inclusion (Secondary) - Barking and Dagenham

At Engage Education, we’re recruiting for an exciting opportunity to work in a Good Secondary school within Barking and Dagenham that caters for students ages 11-18 who are currently recruiting for an experienced HLTA to join them in September. 

About the role:

This is a permanent post based in their Inclusion room where you will be responsible for supervising and teaching some of their most vulnerable students who have been placed into the inclusion room on a temporary basis. The space was pupose built for students who are at risk of exclusion to give them space and time to reflect on their behaviourk, whilst continuing their normal timetable of lessons in a smaller class. There is no more than 10 students within the class and you would also be supported by the Inclusion Room Manager. 

• Have the ability to build strong rapport with vulnerable students who have very challenging behaviour

• Have experience working with young people with SEMH, Autism and ADHD

• Have a proven background in supporting SEND students with their learning

• A real desire to make a positive difference to the students that you work with

• HLTA status or a degree holder
