HRGO are recruiting for an Employment Solicitor to be based in Leeds city centre. The role will involve managing a caseload of employment matters under supervision and supporting the Partner / Head of Department.

The role is suitable for a NQ - 3 years PQE with experience of employment claimant work and with good knowledge of the employment tribunal process.

The successful applicant will be organised and methodical. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently to ensure deadlines are met and our excellent client care standards are maintained. They will also be friendly, professional and able to explain technical legal detail with clear and confident communication, both verbally and in writing.

KEY TASKS

  • Running a case load of client matters under supervision.
  • Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client's initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
  • Dealing with client enquiries
  • Providing support to other fee earners in the Employment department.

  • Professional and friendly client care.
  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with procedures and processes.
  • Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal problems in a concise and customer-friendly way.
  • Ability to present and argue a case orally and in writing.
  • Good and clear communication to deal with clients and other parties face to face.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Accurate communication to produce clear and accurate letters and legal documents.
  • Confident IT skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work, under supervision, to meet client's expectations and matter deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • A flexible, pro-active and 'can do' attitude.

EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ months experience in a similar role
  • NQ - 3 years PQE or relevant experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Practising Certificate for qualified applicants
