Business Development Manager





The company is a proactive and innovative fabrication company specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of tanks, vessels and silos. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the company's sales activities throughout the UK, working closely with the Sales & Marketing Director. As the Business Development Manager, you will promote Richard Alans services to a varied range of companies in numerous market sectors including, chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, renewable energy and oil & gas.



Duties

· Manage your sales region, identifying sales opportunities and achieving KPI's.

· Manage and grow existing relationships as well as business development. 80% new business development.

· Promote & participate in company visits to Richard Alans facilities

· Present quotations to clients including prompt follow ups

· Lead the quotation/tender process.

· Work with Senior Management to set and monitor sales targets to achieve objectives.

· Participate in trade shows as required.

· Create reports and forecasts as required.

· Monitor business trends, competitor data and gather market intelligence relating to the Tank, Vessel & Silo industry

· Work closely with the Proposals Department to ensure an excellent standard of quotation is prepared and presented

· Liaise with various engineering departments.



Skills and Attributes Required



· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

· First-class presentation skills.

· Experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Key Account Manager or similar within mechanical engineering background would be an advantage.

· A proven background in sales including sales pipeline management and development of new business.

· Determination, enthusiasm, and motivation to succeed and grow with a reputable company.

· Ideally a background in developing new business opportunities within the tanks and vessels market, but not essential.

· Willingness to travel, you will be home based covering UK wide with occasional staying away

· Excellent analytical and organisational skills.

· A proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Hours - 39.5 per week 8am to 5pm Mon to Thurs and Fri 8am to 1.30

Hols start on 25 days increasing each year by one day to reach 28 days after 3 years.

Pension currently Employer 4% Employee 4% employer contribution increasing to 5% July 24 and 6% July 25
