We are now looking for a Centre Manager to join us in our Lynmouth National Park Centre on a permanent, part-time basis, working 28 hours per week during the summer season (up to 3rd November for this year) and 20 hours per week during the winter season (from 4th November 2024 to 28th March 2025).

The Role

As the Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the Lynmouth National Park Centre’s facilities, activities, staff and volunteers.

Providing great visitor experiences, you’ll recruit and develop Information Advisors, volunteers and work experience students, manage the rota and ensure the overall smooth running of the Centre.

You’ll manage stock levels, handle payments, undertake administrative tasks and ensure the Centre is as clean, tidy and presentable as possible.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
- Assist with marketing activities
- Produce regular operating reports
- Engage with schools, youth and other groups about Exmoor

About You

To be considered as a Centre Manager, you will need:

- Experience of managing a visitor centre, retail outlet or similar including staff and volunteer management
- Experience of marketing events and promoting a venue/service via traditional and social media outlets
- Experience of working with external suppliers and activity providers
- Knowledge of Health and Safety relevant to a visitor/public environment, with experience of compiling risk assessments
- Experience of cash handling, operating a till and reconciling end of day takings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational, time management and planning skills
- Good IT skills

The closing date for this role is Midnight on the 8th of July 2024.

Interviews are planned for 23rd July 2024 at the National Park Centre in Lynmouth.
