Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing transport policies and strategies
- Leading and managing diverse transport projects and multi-faceted strategies
- Creating, commissioning, and managing business cases for complex transport projects
- Maximising the Council's chances of success in bidding for national funding opportunities
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure transport schemes meet objectives
- Providing expert advice on transport planning issues
- Advancing transport-related projects to improve local and regional infrastructure
- Utilising knowledge of external funding sources to co-fund transport schemes
Job Requirements:
- Experience in transport planning, with a strong understanding of related issues
- Proven ability to develop policies and strategies within the transport sector
- Extensive knowledge of external funding sources for transport projects
- Competence in project management and delivering complex programmes
- Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a transport planning related subject
- Experience in working with the rail sector is advantageous but not essential
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, leading teams to successful outcomes
