SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location:Newcastle
Salary Scale: £75.00 - £100.00 per day
Status: Full Time, Part time (Hours: 8:45 AM to 2:45 PM)
Start Date: ASAP
GSL Educationis currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to undertake a position at one of our client p schools in Newcastle.
A SEMH Teaching Assistant working with students with special educational needs in schools play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Behavior Support Plans to address specific student needs.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to the teaching team as needed.
The successful candidate will:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- A positive attitude, patience, and resilience in the face of challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology, or a related would be advantageous.
