Castle Employment Group are working with a stunning hotel situated in large grounds & woodland area who are recruiting a new Head Chef to lead their strong kitchen team in delivering service across the restaurant and multiple event space. This is fantastic opportunity for an established Head or Exec Chef looking for a new opportunity coming from a background in banqueting and comfortable catering for large events.

Along with a starting salary up to £45,000 there is an achievable bonus scheme based around staffing margins, GP and food safety. You will also benefit from venue discounts for you, friends & family, birthday holidays and employee referral schemes.

We are wanting to speak to candidates who are experienced within banqueting environments and have operated at Head/Exec Chef level and are passionate about high quality food & service. For this role the chef would need to have strong skills around communication, planning and menu development along with being able to manage a team of up to 8 chefs. For this role you would need your own transport as the position comes with no accommodation and is commutable from Leeds, York, Harrogate & Wetherby.

What the role of Head Chef entails:

• Overall management of the food offerings across events, restaurants & outside catering
• Development of menus across the catering outlets
• Contribute to the overall development of the business by input of ideas
• Stock management
• Staff management – including rota planning, training & recruitment
• Management of all financial goals of the kitchen
• Comply with all Health & Safety, Food Safety and COSHH Requirements
• Ensure good communication throughout the kitchen department
• Engage with event guests to make sure their needs are met
• Liaises with FOH staff to ensure an efficient food service delivery to the guests and all hotel clients

What we require from a Head Chef

• Relevant experience at Head/Exec level within banqueting venues
• Positive & professional approach to staff & customers
• Good working knowledge of food safety, allergens, nutrition and health & safety
• Relevant Catering Qualifications including NVQ & Food Safety
• Access to transport and the ability to commute
