Links Recruitment Group present a great opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to join a large and well-established company that continue to grow and have opportunities for training and progression. Within this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and day to day running of all fixed plant machinery to best practice standards to ensure production is maintained at the highest possible level.

Main Duties

  • Ensure each team member has an up to date skills matrix completed for them and an agreed plan in place to bridge any gap.
  • Conduct a monthly “one to one” with each team member to recognise technical & behavioural strengths and identify and resolve areas for improvement and document where required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies by championing the paramount importance of safe working methods and practices and the commitment to the importance of compliance.
  • Ensure budget tracking database is maintained and up to date at all times.
  • Drive the improvement of the maintenance key performance indicators and ensure team members are aware of KPI’s and KPI results by means of a visual review process.
  • To ensure that planned preventative maintenance is carried out on time.
  • Action any reported observations/concerns arising from a PPM activity.
  • Assist the maintenance team by attending breakdowns as to quickly effect a repair and therefore maximise uptime when required.
  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies as well as statutory requirements.
  • Suggest and implement plant improvements.
  • Collate documentation to enable a traceable and auditable process.
  • Take part in cross functional task teams to improve machine/process reliability.
  • Attend any departmental audit being conducted by either internal or external personnel.
  • Supervise internal and external personal and ensure that they work safely in line with their documented RAMS/SOPS.
  • Attend daily toolbox talks as required to enable quick effective communications of any issues.
  • Effectively supervise, motivate and develop the maintenance team
  • Review performance of individuals within the team

The Person

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical Maintenance
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Management/Supervisor or Team Leader experience
  • Relevant Mechanical Qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience and understanding of mechanical maintenance in manufacturing settings
  • Ability to work as part of multi-disciplined team and also on own initiative
  • Experience in medium to heavy industry
  • Knowledge of health and safety

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

Salary: £48,000 - £54,000
