Events Officer

This role is a full-time permanent position and is vital to all aspects of marketing and sales at Flannery Plant Hire, to raise our profile and brand recognition throughout the industry. We’re looking for a confident individual who is flexible, organised and excellent at communicating.

You will be expected to:

  • Travel frequently in the UK – At least 70 per cent of your time will be spent traveling to and attending Industry events.
  • Work in close co-operation with the Events Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and attend on average 45 events per year.
  • You will be expected to work outside office hours at times, stay away from home when necessary and work occasional weekends.
  • Set up, maintain and drive the mobile training unit simulator van to and from events.
  • Report any mechanical issues with the mobile training unit to the relevant departments.
  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of events and how we can Improve.
  • On occasion you will be expected to assist in the set up and maintenance of additional Flannery training units.
  • Work in close co-operation with the Marketing and sales team.
  • Identify and track event inventory including stands, collateral, merchandise, etc and communicate with marketing regarding orders.
  • Regularly assist the marketing department with social media content related to upcoming and attended events.
  • Be well presented at events and around clients, wearing provided Flannery clothing.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A full UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively is essential.
  • Previous experience in an event related role is desirable but not essential.
  • Confidence in dealing with clients, suppliers, customers is important.
  • Ability to organise your own time and work to a strict schedule as part of a team is essential.
  • Ability to write a brief description of events and take photographs and or videos.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage pressure and juggle a varied workload.
  • Ability to effectively manage professional relationships.
  • Ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, geographically diverse, and rapidly changing environment.
