ASD Teaching Assistant - Primary

Location: Newcastle
Salary: £75 to £100 per day
Start Date: Immediately

GSL Education requires a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Newcastle. This position involves supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, facilitating their academic and social development within a nurturing environment.

Job Summary:

  • Provide tailored support to children with ASD in a classroom setting.
  • Implement learning and care plans developed by the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and manage sensory sensitivities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and delivery of effective strategies to support students with ASD.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to foster an inclusive educational environment.
  • Monitor and support the well-being of students throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or related special educational needs.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Education, or Support Services (or equivalent).
  • Strong empathy, patience, and effective communication skills.
