Requirements

  • Full Clean UK Driving License (Manual)
  • Experience working at height and in confined spaces (preferred)
  • 1 year experience in Fire Damper Testing or similar role.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Flexibility – Some works are carried out “out of hours” and therefore shifts generally start late afternoon/early evening. Jobs are based nationally so you will be required to arrange travel with the team member to get to site using a company vehicle.

** Note:  6 months daytime work has been procured.  Flexible hours would not be applicable for the duration of the 6month **

  • A high level of enthusiasm and a good work ethic.

The role will include:

  • Working at various sites across the UK.
  • Completing the Inspecting, Testing and maintenance Fire and ventilation Damper installations. (Testing as part of BS EN1366.) This may also include cleaning of ventilation duct systems to TR19 standards.
  • Installing access panels where required.
  • Working in confined spaces and at height.
  • Communicating with customers.
  • Understanding and carrying out risk assessments on sites prior to works commence.
  • Understand and adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Main Duties

  • Act as a representative of Just Good Hygiene to carry out maintenance and remedial duties to various clients across the UK.
  • Responsible to Carry out /adhering to Just Good Hygiene policies & procedures and working to the relevant industry guidelines and customer specifications.
  • Be the lead engineer on site, taking responsibility for the project
  • Manage team and Develop knowledge of the team to grow Fire Damper operatives to Engineers.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines whilst on the job site and ensure all tools, equipment and vehicles are kept clean and in good repair.
  • Ensure all specifications are met, including industry best practice, manufacturers literature and standard product details.
  • With the support of the fire damper operative ensure all tools, equipment are stored effectively in vehicles and stocks are maintained.
  • Ensure all reporting is timely and accurate covering daily service reports, non-conformity reporting, the client final system report and weekly timesheets.

The Company

My client is a specialist cleaning and ventilation contractor seeking a Fire Damper Engineer to help strengthen their team. They work with several national hospitals, hotels, restaurants and food on the go chains to ensure they meet the highest standards of hygiene. My client are members of BESA and full training will be given to ensure this standard is met by all team members. The purpose of this role is to carry out the testing, maintenance and installation of fire and smoke dampers and have the responsibility for delivering a fully compliant fire system.
