Automation Engineer
Cheltenham / Hereford / Hybrid - Remote Work From Home (WFH)

Automation Engineer required by an award winning innovative cutting-edge technology company within the Defence sector. Due to nature of this position, we do require an Automation Engineer (Azure - Cloud, Automation) who holds active MoD clearance to a minimum of SC Level.  This position will utilise both influential live and experimental projects and will allow the individual to explore a technical playground.

A few details about the position
As a DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer / Automation Engineer you will not be pidgeon holed and will have a varied role and be exposed to a World of awesome tech whilst still having a hands-on appreciation for onsite and hybrid environments.  Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure on Azure.
  • Collaborate with team members to deploy and manage applications using Docker containers.
  • Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate deployment processes and ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain version control using Git, ensuring proper branching and merging strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud technologies and infrastructure automation.

What you will need

  • Strong understanding of Git version control system.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure (Azure certification is a plus).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools, especially Terraform.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • MoD SC or ideally DV Clearance (or at least a willingness to be cleared to DV Clearance)
