Head of Operations (Condition Monitoring)

BES Asset Reliability, part of the BES Group are hiring a Head of Operations, Condition Monitoring. We are an independent provider of reliability and condition based maintenance solutions, consultancy and training services and work closely with our customers to help them improve productivity and prolong the life of critical machinery, our aim is to become the stand out maintenance and reliability service provider in the UK.
This is a senior leadership role directly responsible for the leadership of the operations of UK Land, Condition Monitoring.
We have over 40 Condition Monitoring Engineers throughout the UK, carrying out vibration data collection and analysis, remote data analysis, lubrication management and services, thermography surveys, air leak surveys, in-situ fan balancing and laser alignment services.
All of our Condition Monitoring Engineers are accredited in Vibration Analysis levels 1 – 3, Thermography levels 1 & 2 and Lubrication Analysis levels 1 & 2 – we are also a BINDT accredited training provider.
Given the nature of the role you may be based from home but will be required to spend several days a week in the Rotherham office. You will also be required to travel between other BES Group office locations, customer offices and customer sites as required. You will be required to travel and stay overnight as required.
What will I be doing?
In this varied and exciting role, your primary purpose is to ensure all operational employees within the division conduct their days safely and professionally and to the complete satisfaction of our customers. Some of your other responsibilities will include:
- To provide day to day leadership and operational support to a number of operational unit leaders.
- To ensure direct (and indirect) reports within the UK Land Condition Monitoring team are motivated and engaged to deliver excellent customer service.
- To build strong relationships with your team to deliver the mission, vision and values of the BES Group and the Asset Reliability Division.
- To ensure customer demand is correctly planned, resourced (people, materials, equipment and transport) and delivered to the required cost, quality and timeline.
- Working with the Head of Operations (Marine), to ensure all marine customer demand is correctly resourced.
- To manage the working hours and patterns of the team which can cover normal business hours but can be at any time, including weekends and often at locations away from home including overseas.
- To develop and maintain positive and engaging relationships with our customers
- To drive service excellence

What experience do I need?
Our Leadership team consists of the best, highly skilled people, we want to encourage everyone to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.
- Technical knowledge of condition based monitoring processes, methods and systems is absolutely essential
- Practical experience with condition based monitoring processes would also be ideal
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience of leading technical field force teams engaged in diverse operational activities
- Proven experience of Profit and Loss management and an understanding of how this works
- Be able to communicate confidently and clearly to employees at all levels, including Senior Executive Teams
- Strong data skills – you will be required to confidently discuss and understand
- No restrictions to work in the UK or abroad
- Full UK driving Licence
