Quantity Surveyor / Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Salary - £30k-£40k (car allowance £4k-6k)

Location – Warrington

TXM Recruit is currently working with one of the largest property services contractors in the UK in search for a Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor, overseeing and pricing their painting and decorating projects within a social housing setting.

This Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor role will be based full time in their Warrington office, Monday to Friday. Occasional travel will be expected to carry out surveys for quotes & cyclical contracts.

Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor duties will include but not limited to –

• Preparing and measuring cost estimates for tenders and contracts
• Checking tenders and contracts highlighting risks
• Understanding Health and Safety
• Assisting in developing specific method statements
• Understanding cost base and production levels
• Develop and maintain several specialist subcontract and supplier contacts
• Ensure production targets are issued and contract CVR’s are set.
• Ensure contracts have targets at detail and summary levels, from operative to contract manager
• Monitor all ongoing contract costs against those detailed in the original tender.
• Record all variations, extras etc. and agree with the client.
• Ensure that financial reports accurately reflect the status of contracts in respect of progress, valuations, billings and collectable cash.

The ideal Quantity Surveyor/Trainee Quantity Surveyor must have –

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor
• Experience of overseeing commercials on projects
• Experience working for another contractor
• Person with good organisation and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a team, and working towards targets
• Comfortable in pricing tenders & quotes
• Understanding of CVR’s
• Ambitious to progress
