Head of Year 2

Location: Slough

Start Date: September 2024

Pay Rate: £120 - £220 per day

GSL Education are looking for a hardworking, ambitious and dynamic Head of Year 2 to join the successful faculty of our client school in Slough from September 2024.

Main Areas of Responsibility as a Head of Year 2

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide professional leadership for Year 2, securing success and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
• Ensure a high-quality education and school experience for all learners.
• Maintain the highest standards of achievement for all learners, creating a productive and disciplined learning environment for the day-to-day operation of the Year Group.
• Foster a positive ethos reflecting the commitment to high achievement, effective teaching, learning, and good relationships.
• Promote students' moral, social, and cultural development through the life of the Year Group and curriculum, preparing them for adult life.
• Set and maintain high expectations for students.

The Head of Year 2 also secures the commitment of the wider school community, all teachers, support staff and parents by developing effective networks based on communication and high quality leadership.

Qualifications & Experience as a Head of Year 2

The successful candidate will have:

• QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree
• Minimum of three years teaching experience
• Proven success in raising achievement across at least two key stages
• Evidence of leading, supporting and managing others, both individuals and teams, ensuring high quality performance
• High level of ICT skills and experience of how new technologies can be used to raise achievement
