A dedicated and inclusive primary school situated in Guildford, is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. We are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all our students, including those with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with SEN students, providing tailored support and assistance in their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and class teachers to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the well-being and development of all students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to SEN students, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Utilize various teaching and communication strategies to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Assist in the preparation of specialized resources and materials to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in meetings with parents, caregivers, and external professionals to discuss student progress and support strategies.
  • Work alongside a team of educators and support staff to maintain a positive and supportive school culture.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience in special education or SEN support.
  • Strong empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by SEN students.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • A valid DBS certificate is required.
  • Additional training or certifications in SEN support is advantageous.
