GSL Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Core Subject Intervention Specialist to join our vibrant and dynamic school in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting.

Job Summary:

As a Core Subject Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to Year 7 students transitioning from Primary school and working at a KS2 level. Help them build a strong foundation in core subjects to ensure a smooth transition to secondary education.
  • Deliver intensive catch-up sessions for Year 11 students at the start of the academic year, focusing on preparing them for their GCSEs.
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies to address individual learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialism in Maths, English, Science, Life Skills, Humanities, or Behaviour management.
  • Experience working with students at KS2 and KS4 levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
