 Job Description: 

  • Promoting the QA departmental reporting systems, ensuring that they are effective and map to the current 
    objectives of the business and highlighting negative trends or areas of concern to the Quality Manager. 
  • Managing all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and 
    customer) 
  • Identifying root cause and investigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues 
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as 
    possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards 
  • Carrying out product and process auditing 
  • Ensuring control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained 
  • Monitoring and reporting on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, parts per million (PPM) figures 
  • Undertake special projects as required 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities 
  • Supporting the Quality Inspectors with inspection activities. 
  • Stopping production in the event of manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes 
  • Ensuring compliance and assisting with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001) 
  • Participating in business and continuous improvement activities. 
  • Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality 
  • Undertake special projects as required 
  • Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients 
  • Being responsible for closure of supplier, internal & customer NC’s in a timely manner. 

Skills and Requirements: 

  • Sound knowledge of either fabrication or machining, ideally both
  • Sound working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001
  • Strong problem-solving skills & ‘design for manufacture’ skills
  • Able to read, review and interpret engineering drawings, specification and understand GD&T
  • Awareness of Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) Documentation Packs (DOC), First Article inspection (FAI).
