Job Duties:
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with special educational needs
  • Coordinate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create individual education plans
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, providing necessary interventions
  • Ensure compliance with SEN regulations and policies
  • Provide training and support to staff on SEN issues
Required Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it
Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

At least 3 years of experience working with students with special educational needs

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of SEN Code of Practise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Previous experience in a SEN leadership role
Working Conditions:

This role involves working in an educational setting, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies. It may require occasional evening or weekend work for meetings or events.
