JOB- Quality Engineer 
LOCATION- Kent
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £45,000-£50,000 plus other benefits 

My client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Kent area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and passionate about Lean Manufacturing and will be mainly responsible for improving quality of the company's operational processes and output

The Quality Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • 5 years experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • APQP/PPAP experience beneficial
  • Self-motivated individual
  • Right first time approach
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure

The Quality Engineer role will involve:

  • Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement
  • Support 8D activities on parts connected to internal or supplier quality concerns
  • Working on NPI products and supplier quality development, implementing new processes
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance throughout product development cycle for NPI
  • Responsible for control plans and QA associated to manufacturing processes which are outsourced
  • Collating material compliance data, report writing where necessary
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA's
  • Handle internal & external audits
  • Monitor supplier performance, define process parameter to ensure process capability
  • Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improving OTD performance
  • Maintain records of products and approved suppliers
  • Identify, lead and participate in improvement project - member of the CI team
