The Business:

Market leading retailer with an award winning Procurement function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support on the growth of a Procurement Centre of Excellence: Lead in the fostering of a procurement engine room, moving forward the agenda around procurement process & technology, as well as future themes around resilience and sustainability
  • Develop and Implement Procurement Systems: Design, implement, and manage advanced procurement systems to streamline procurement operations.
  • Enhance Procurement Performance: Monitor and analyze procurement performance metrics, providing actionable insights from internal data systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure efficiency.
  • Data Reporting: Create reports across Procurement and Supplier Management performance, communicating to the wider team around KPI's (risk, governance, commercial value) in order to inform decision making and understanding across spend, as well as policies and processes
  • Support Procurement Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business goals.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within procurement operations, driving continuous improvement and implementing best practices to enhance overall efficiency.

Key Skills Required:

  • Expertise in Procurement Systems: In-depth knowledge of procurement systems and software, such as SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze procurement data and performance metrics, demonstrating technical competence in data analysis tools like Excel and MicroStrategy.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven experience in developing and executing procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Excellent skills in managing supplier relationships, including negotiation, performance evaluation, and compliance monitoring.
  • Process Improvement: Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements within procurement operations.
