Reporting into the Head of School Improvement, you will be instrumental in leading team of 14 Governors and supporting them. You will challenge Governing Bodies in schools as well as work on their improvement and effectiveness.

 

Your Role as Governance Lead:


  • You will provide training and advice to Governors and Governing Bodies
  • You will handle complex complaints and support schools
  • Develop and review LA policies and procedures relating to appointing of Governors
  • Provide support to governors, headteachers, clerks, councillors and colleagues in the
    appointment of LA governors, and developing the ‘Instrument of Government’ for each school
  • You will collaborate with School Improvement Advisors and advise Governing bodies on Headteacher performance management their retention and wellbeing
  • Establish and manage relationships with broad range of stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the level of support provided by the clerking service to  schools is of an exceptionally high standard through the line management and development of the Clerking Service
 
 

Your experience as Governance Lead:

 
  • Managing and developing team and ability to set out and achieve objectives
  • Proven track of managing budget and delivering efficiencies
  • Previous experience of delivering training and development opportunities for governors, teachers and/or support staff
  • Strong understanding of School causing concern guidance
