Internal Sales Representative

Summary of Role:

Metalis are working with a well established company who provide high quality products to the UK Civil Engineering and Construction industries. As an Internal Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in the department's future growth. Your primary responsibilities will include handling incoming enquiries, issuing quotations in line with our KPIs, and proactively following up to convert these into orders. Strong communication skills are essential to building robust relationships with our customers, who are typically Builders Merchants or Contractors. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, target-driven, and eager to succeed in a sales-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve personal and department sales targets.
  • Provide basic technical assistance and recommendations when necessary.
  • Assist in implementing department sales and marketing strategies.
  • Prepare a 3-month sales forecast.
  • Maintain and update the customer relations management system.
  • Develop new and existing targeted accounts.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing sales calls to existing and potential customers.
  • Generate quotations from customer enquiries.
  • Increase the conversion rate of quotations to orders.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Experience in customer relations.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging at all levels.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and IT skills.
  • Actively demonstrate the Values and Behaviour's of the business.

Key Contacts:

  • Suppliers.
  • All customers, including established and potential Merchants, Contractors, Councils, Architects, Engineers, and members of the Arboricultural community.

Job Details:

  • Salary: Up to £30,000pa
  • Office hours: 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM, with a standard working day of 7.5 hours and flexible shift options depending on team cover, ensuring an excellent work/life balance.
  • Dress code: smart/casual, with dress-down Fridays.
  • 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with 4-5 days reserved for the Christmas shutdown.
  • Structured Company Bonus: Earn up to 10% of salary after 6 months of probation.
  • BUPA health care after 6 months of probation.
  • Auto-enrol Pension.
