Contract SolidWorks Designer IR35 Status: Out

Hourly Rate - Circa £40 DOE
Contract Term - 4 Months
Location - In office, Melksham

We're excited to be supporting a prestigious design and manufacturing company in the UK. They have over a century of experience in delivering critical integrated protection solutions for the military, law enforcement, and first responders worldwide.

Our client is looking for two Contract SolidWorks Designers to help support them on a 4-month project. This project requires excellent surface modelling skills, as you will be dealing with complex organic geometry centred around facial features. You will be expected to interrogate/utilise existing geometry data.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Clarifying and solving design issues
• Researching users' needs
• Investigating appropriate materials and production processes
• Producing sketches, sample designs and prototypes
• Testing product designs using specialist computer software and computer-aided design (CAD) technology
• Correcting product faults
• Presenting designs, samples and final work to the design manager

Experiences required

• Proficient in 3D modelling using SolidWorks
• Competent in complex surface modelling for organic shapes
• Can create detailed technical drawing packs for manufacture & assembly (DFMA)
• Background in product development NPI/NPD
• Design for rubber/plastic injection moulded products is advantageous
• Able to use SolidWorks PDM or similar is advantageous
• SC Cleared is advantageous
