Scotia Handling Services (SHS) is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a flexible attitude to carry out inspection and testing of Lifting Equipment from our base in Linwood and on client sites across Scotland.

SHS is a small, family-owned business located in Linwood, serving customers nationwide. Our compact size enables us to be dynamic and flexible, fostering a fantastic, close-knit team environment with ample opportunities for advancement. We pride ourselves on having an excellent reputation in the industry.

We are looking to expand our team of engineers and are, therefore, looking for enthusiastic and hard working service engineers who either already hold a LEEA qualification or would be driven towards gaining their qualification. 

The lower end of the pay scale is a role that would suit a hand working individual who is keen to get into an industry that is always in demand and willing to work towards their LEEA Team Card qualification (this is paid for by the company). Our engineers are enthusiastic and need to be able to work effectively and efficiently onsite at a variety of client bases, as well as in our workshop in Linwood. Learning from more experienced engineers  to work towards being able to go on site alone to carry out LOLER inspections. 

The higher end of the pay scale is a role for a candidate who already holds their LEEA Team Card or who has experience working in the lifting industry. 

Will be required to:

- Carry out LOLER inspections (including marine based)

- Assemble, Manufacture, Inspect, Test, Service and Repair various items of lifting and pulling equipment

- Load testing of specialist custom made fabrications and lifting points on fabrications as well as all items of Lifting Equipment and height safety anchor points/davits

- Inspection of height safety equipment as well as service/repair of fall arrest devices and installation/inspection of lifelines and anchor points

Preferable skills/qualifications:

- LEEA Qualification (Team Card) - this isn't a requirement for application and we can provide the relevant training for the right candidate 

- NDT Certification (LPI and MPI level 2) - not a requirment for application and we can provide the relevant training for the right candidate 

- Forklift/Teletruck license

- Previous experience with height safety installations
