Client Side Building Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:
- Property Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of properties to assess condition, identify necessary repairs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintenance Management: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and manage reactive maintenance tasks to ensure properties remain in optimal condition.
- Project Management: Oversee refurbishment and renovation projects, from initial planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Technical Advice: Provide expert technical advice on building issues, materials, and construction methods to internal stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure all properties comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies, including health and safety and environmental standards.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance and refurbishment projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions and value for money.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and project progress, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and service providers to coordinate property management activities and projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building surveying or a similar role, preferably within an institutional investor or large property owner.
- Professional Membership: MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
- Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and refurbishment.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in building survey software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality standards.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
