Wood Finisher
up to £27700 inc production bonus, Thirsk area, permanant role, overtime, 25 days holiday
We are seeking candidates with some experience of bench joinery and wood finishing for a bespoke joinery manufacturer in the Thirsk area. This would suit candidates who have experience in kitchen manufacture, laminating, veneering or who have recently completed their Level 2 or 3 in bench joinery and are looking for their first role.
Your role as a Wood Finisher will include:
- Working with a range of hand tools to finish bespoke joinery products
- Working with edge banders, a hot press, edge sanders, mitre saw, hand routers and orbital sanders
- Sanding out and filling defects to provide a smooth surface for finishing
- Finish all items to a high quality
- Learning all workshop tasks as needed
As a Wood Finisher ideally you will:
- Come from a bench joinery, wood machining, work or educational background
- Have confident knowledge of different finishing techniques, materials and tools
- Ideally have knowledge of laminating and veneering
- Be passionate about woodworking and have a keen eye for detail
- Have a great work ethic and attitude to learn
