Assistant Planner / Town Planner

London - Hybrid

£30,000 - £34,000pa

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting the UK's number 1 homes extension company in their hire of an ambitious Town Planner.

The successful candidate will work closely with my clients' stakeholders including the in-house designers to produce proposals, and proactively engaging with local authority case officers to ensure you drive forward decision making.

Duties of the role:

  • Provide high quality advice to the in-house designers and architects to ensure that development meets local and national policies and guidance.
  • Provide advice to the in-house consultants regarding early project feasibility and risks.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, triaging communication and allocating actions, as necessary.
  • Identify ways to improve engagement and relationships with Local Planning Authorities.

Candidate Requirements

  • RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related field of study.
  • Previous experience ideally within the public sector.
  • Very good understanding of the UK Planning System, in particular Permitted Development Rights and Householder applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
