The company

Our client was established in Melbourne, Australia in 1947 and created the first and original rubber roof flashing, in the UK they are focused on creating, manufacturing and distributing leading brands within the roofing, drainage & plumbing industries. They strive to provide high-quality and user-friendly solutions backed up by excellent customer service. They distribute a range of innovative products to their network of retailers, building merchants and online merchants across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Their network makes purchasing products easy and fast, allowing customers projects to be completed on time.

As Operations Manager, you'll be at the forefront of improving our warehouse operations, ensuring top-notch productivity, quality, and safety standards. You'll lead a team in optimising existing processes and procedures and spearheading continuous improvement projects. This role is perfect for a proactive leader ready to make a significant impact at their site.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • To lead, manage and direct the Warehouse team (3) and Customer service / Stock team (2).
  • Support the senior leadership team in creating a collaborative and target driven working environment.
  • Determine KPIs for the site and measure them and support first line management in driving them.
  • Ongoing training and development of staff including managing appraisals and recruitment.
  • Ongoing improvement and review of Processes and procedures within ISO9001
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and understood and continuously reviewed and improved.
  • Undertaking regular risk assessment reviews
  • Managing Purchasing & stock planning, warehouse operations, supplier & customer reviews (When needed)
  • Create an environment of employee engagement, training and succession to create a high performance, motivated work culture and continuous improvement environment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • HSE training/understanding - maintain and comply with all company Health and Safety standards - ISO9001
  • Practical and proactive problem solver
  • BSc level education or Five plus years of relevant experience
  • Commercial acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to establish and maintain a good team working environment
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with cross functional teams
