Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced programme manager to be engaged on a permanent basis in Preston, Lancashire.

The opportunity

The role will be providing support to a major nuclear decommissioning portfolio across the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Assisting with the programme design and definition; the development of the programme vision and blueprint; the tranche plan; the articulation of benefits (ensuring strategic alignment); the initiation of studies; the packaging of work and articulation of the requirements for project delivery and the setting up and oversight of the programme office.
* Assisting the development and maintenance of a robust S&R change programme and programme governance framework, ensuring each meeting has clear terms of reference with clear authority limits and everyone operating within governance understands their roles and responsibilities and decision-making authorities.
* Supporting the establishment of the programme board and attending as secretary.
* Monitoring the effectiveness of the S&R change programme and programme governance arrangements to ensure they continue to operate cohesively in line with the agreed terms of reference, taking action to address gaps as required.
* Developing the programme business case, gaining stakeholder support and preparing the business case presentation to the investment review panel for sanction approval.
* Supporting regular reviews of the programme business case and any underpinning project business cases to ensure continued alignment with strategic intent.
* Defining the requirements for project delivery including the projects boundaries, strategic tolerances and authority limits to which the project can operate and make decisions.
* Working collaboratively with the other member of staff to provide information and do the needful action.
* Supporting the identification and management of internal and external programme dependencies, ensuring those on the critical path are carefully managed and tracked throughout the programme lifecycle to prevent programme delays.
* Assisting with the knowledge and information management arrangements for the programme, ensuring programme information and intelligence is effectively managed and stored in accordance with agreed knowledge management, information management, configuration management and records management rules and protocols.
* Providing the monthly performance dashboard reports and carrying out analysis of performance data and trends.
