My main contractor client is after a motivated and keen Planner to join their team on a new project in West London. Committed to innovation and excellence, they have been appointed as the main contractor to deliver a large data centre and are therefore growing their planning team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with foundational experience in project planning and a desire to advance their career in the construction industry.

Job Description:
As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of their project under the framework of an NEC 4 contract. You will work closely with the Lead Planner to ensure that all aspects of the project are meticulously planned and executed efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Planner in developing, maintaining, and updating the construction schedule using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather all necessary information to support effective project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and report discrepancies between the schedule and actual work performed.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates to ensure that project timelines and milestones are met.
  • Analyse potential project bottlenecks or delays and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with the NEC 4 contract terms, focusing on the timescales and scheduling requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in project planning, preferably within the construction industry. Experience with data centre projects is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Understanding of NEC contract terms, especially NEC 4, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
