Our client who designs and manufactures production line equipment are keen to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to work in a small team to produce designs/drawings for mechanical systems and equipment.

Duties:

  • Using AutoCAD and Inventor to produce designs of enclosures, conveyors, ductwork, equipment layouts and other mechanical items
  • Produce BoM's schedules, schematics and sub-assembly drawings
  • Make modifications to drawings to reflect changes in design
  • Act as liaison between drawing office and other departments.


Requirements:

  • Must have worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an industrial design role
  • Must have a recognised engineering qualification
  • A working knowledge of Autodesk products such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Autodesk Vault preferable
  • Other 3D CAD software knowledge may be considered, such as SolidWorks etc.
  • Experience of working to BS 8888 drafting standards would be a benefit
  • Must have a good understanding of engineering techniques, including machining, sheet metal and fabrication
  • Must be able to interpret equipment assembly drawings
