Our client, a tier 2 contractor in the construction sector, is currently seeking an experienced Slinger/Banksman for a long-term contract in Hawick, starting on 22/07/2024. This role is essential for the effective handling and directing of lifting operations on a busy construction site dedicated to water projects.

• Safely sling and direct loads being lifted by cranes or other lifting equipment
• Communicate effectively with crane operators and other on-site personnel
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
• Inspect and maintain lifting equipment
• Assist in various other tasks as directed by the site manager
• Provide clear and precise hand signals to crane operators
• Work collaboratively with other team members
• Maintain a clean and organised work area

• CPCS Blue-Slinger ticket
• Experience in construction, particularly in water-related projects
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and in challenging conditions
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Reliable with a strong work ethic

• Long-term contract starting from 22/07/2024
