Aligra is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity on behalf of our well-respected client in Tilbury. We are searching for a dedicated and skilled Counterbalance Forklift Driver who is ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding role in a dynamic outdoor environment.

About the Role:
As a Counterbalance Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in the operations of our client's busy distribution hub. This position requires a reliable and proactive individual who is prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate counterbalance forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload goods from trucks and containers.
  • Store and stack materials in assigned locations, using the forklift to stack items at various heights, ensuring stability and compliance with safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance on the forklift to ensure it is in good working order, reporting any faults or damages immediately.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to coordinate movements and manage inventory accuracy.
  • Follow strict health and safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and adhering to company policies.
  • Assist with inventory counts and ensure the accuracy of shipments and receipts.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards.
  • Be adaptable to various tasks as required, such as manual handling and general warehouse duties.

About You:

  • Valid counterbalance forklift licence is essential.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an outdoor or challenging environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent physical condition, capable of manual handling and operating machinery safely.
  • Punctual, reliable, and committed to achieving excellence in all tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
