Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our team for an ongoing agency role within an Out-of-Hours (OOH) service. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care to patients during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide autonomous, high-quality care to patients presenting with acute, non-life-threatening conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, and implement effective treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications within the scope of practice and according to guidelines.
- Manage a varied caseload, including minor injuries, acute illnesses, and chronic condition exacerbations.
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, emergency services, and community services, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all documentation meets legal and professional standards.
- Adhere to all relevant clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies.
- Participate in clinical audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide health education and advice to patients and their families to promote self-management and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration.
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or equivalent.
- Prescribing qualification (V300) is essential.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working as an ANP, preferably in an OOH or urgent care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
